The Four Par Threes
Four one-shot holes, each facing a different direction, from 158 yards on the third to 211 yards on the ninth.
Brierwood has four par 3s, and they face four different directions. The third plays southeast, the ninth southwest, the fourteenth north and the seventeenth northeast. Two are on each nine.
From the blue tees the yardages are 158, 211, 175 and 182, a total of 726 yards. The third is the shortest hole on the course from the blue tees. The ninth is the longest par 3 by a wide margin: 53 yards more than the third and 29 more than the seventeenth.
From the white tees the four measure 148, 172, 163 and 165 yards. From the gold tees they are 136, 152, 150 and 151, and from the red 125, 126, 128 and 145. Among the par 3s the ninth shows the biggest drop between the back and front tees: 85 yards from blue to red.
The GPS positions give the depth of each green from front to back at roughly 19 to 29 yards across the four: about 25 yards on the third, 25 on the ninth, 19 on the fourteenth and 29 on the seventeenth. Those figures are rough, because they come from front and back pin positions rather than a survey.
The ninth green sits about 70 yards from the tenth tee, so the longest par 3 is also the last hole before the turn.
